New Interview with Dean O'Gorman: The AU Interview at Supanova 2013
Dean O'Gorman has given another interesting interview for an Australian online site, theaureview.com. I think it gives a bit of insight into what not just Dean but the entire dwarf cast and their leader have been experiencing since the premiere of AUJ. Dean is always thoughtful with his answers and always modest.
Here are a few excerpts I found interesting and a link to the entire interview below.
Okay, so obviously, The Hobbit has been doing amazing things…one of those things being giving you the opportunity to travel and attend events like Supanova. Have you had time to reflect on it all?
No, not at all!
Do you think it’d be a scary thing if you did? Overwhelming?
I don’t really think I could ever really get a perspective on it, because I’ve got such a different way of looking at this, because I’ve been so involved in the process. At things like premieres and, to a lesser extent, things like the conventions, I experience the reach that these films have. I don’t know, I don’t really think about it because it’s not really a lot of point in thinking about it, you know? People that weren’t doing the film would tell me lots of their opinions on what this was going to do, or what this meant, but nobody really knows until things happen or not. I don’t really think about it because I don’t feel like I can think about it with any kind of objectivity.
****
Was it one of those things where, once taking on a job like this, everything else and any further project need to be brought into mind and perspective? Does it cut the amount of time you have to get involved in other projects?
I have been…we only finished shooting in August and we did have some hiatuses, but I was shooting for a TV show on those hiatuses, so I really have been fortunate to be really busy. It does mean other things, even just general life things… I’ve been living out of a suitcase so I do feel quite discombobulated. You know, over the next few months or whatever, things will settle back down to relative normality and I can get on…If anything, the experience has shown me that you just never know where your life’s going to go, you know? I guess actors are more prone to that, because you can get a job out of the blue so quickly and it changes things, but it’s a really good example for me. In the next few years…who knows where I’ll be or what to expect, really.
***********
(He was asked about being one of the "Hot Dwarves")
[Laughs] No! I can just bask in the glory of Aidan’s handsomeness! I don’t know, what people find attractive and what people don’t…That’s the thing with The Hobbit, like The Lord of the Rings, some people approach it from ‘the world’, from the Tolkien world, so they like 'characters' from within that world. I don’t necessarily think it’s about me, I think it’s about how they perceive the character and how attractive that character is to them. I look a bit different too…well, I’d like to think that I look a bit different! But yeah, I don’t know…
I’m going to be mentioning in this write up, ‘As he shrugged casually…’
Ah yeah, "He shrugs…", I mean it all became relative too, because the other dwarves had hardly been hit with the handsome stick, had they? Apart from Richard Armitage, I don’t really think I had a fierce comparison with, like...Gloin! [Laughs] Although in the Dwarven world, ironically, Fili and Kili would be seen as having to grow into their looks. The hairier and wrinklier they are, the more they’re expected. I mean, Dwarvish women, according to that world, have beards and that’s considered pretty hot!

The RAin in Spain: The Hobbit DOS Grand European Tour December 2013
The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug is premiering all over Europe this December
Several Updates - See below
For Richard Armitage fans the most important recent announcement is that Ricardo will be in Madrid for the DOS Premiere on December 11
We'll be following several of the websites and blogs from our fellow fans in Spain, including ForoArmitage and El Anillo Unico
Warner Bros Spain and also on Facebook
Oh yes - Luke Evans will be there too
Richard and Luke will also be at an awards show in Madrid on December 12
The Premios 40 is a music award show and gala, hopefully will be televised and some lovely RA fans in Spain will record it all for us around the world. The Hobbit chose well to have two men who can sing and know music to represent DOS at this awards show. Looking forward to all the interviews too.
Looks like there will also be a "meet and greet" with the guys for some lucky ticket winners:

No word on why Aidan Turner can't make it to the Zurich premiere after all, but I'm sure it's disappointing for him as well.

Have I missed any of the European Grand Tour so far? I'll update this post as we find out more.
For some of us in the US, European time is not the best to watch live streaming, since some of us will be at work at the time, but look forward to checking out all the great RA sites for news in December.
Oh yes, there's the World Premiere in Los Angeles on December 2 to look forward to! Richard Armitage confirmed as attending, plus many others in the cast.
I know what I'll be doing Monday night Dec 2
There is supposed to be a press event November 30 in LA with Richard Armitage and Luke Evans in attendance, but closed to the public. They are reported to be inaugurating The Book of New Zealand exhibit - more in TheOneRingnet:

The King Beneath the Mountains
The King Beneath the Mountains,
The King of Carven Stone,
The Lord of Silver Fountains
Shall Come Into His Own!
His crown shall be upholden,
His harp shall be restrung,
His halls should echo golden
To songs of yore re-sung,
The woods shall wave on mountains
And grass beneath the sun;
His wealth shall flow in fountains
And the rivers golden run,
The streams shall run in gladness,
The lakes shall shine and burn,
All sorrow fail and sadness
At the Mountain-king's return!

Hobbit Fan Event New York - November 4, 2013
My Hobbit T-Shirt from Nov 4
I'm tired, and my feet really hurt, and I may be suffering from delayed frostbite, but I would do it all again tomorrow.
Richard Armitage and Two Other Guys*
I'm sure I'll need a few days to catch up with all the blogs and websites of Armitage fans and Hobbit fans who were there yesterday. The details of the evening have been more than covered by now I'm sure, especially for those that watched the streaming portion of the evening, so I really wouldn't be adding much to what you all have already read and said.
Standing in line was also much fun thanks to my great line companions and the company of two wonderful RA Friends.
I'm glad Richard wasn't "styled" and was just his wonderful, quiet, lovely, self, wearing his favorite black long-sleeve Lucas T-shirt, and that gorgeous leather jacket. I'm still in a state of bliss and grateful for having the good fortune to be there and to see him.
As a special treat for those lucky few of us in theaters around the world, we did see 20 minutes of footage from Desolation of Smaug (DOS). Peter Jackson asked us not to give too many details, but don't think there's harm in saying we saw scenes in Mirkwood, Laketown, and lots of barrels. I was impressed by what we saw.
This morning when I was trying to hail a cab at 3:30am across from Central Park in New York to get to the train station on time, I thought of Richard, the new New Yorker. Had there been an opportunity, might have asked him if he's settled in the new apartment.
