Richard Armitage, actor
Richard Armitage was born and raised in Leicester, and was a pupil at Brockington College for a time. He attended performing arts school Pattison College in Coventry, and studied at LAMDA (the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art).
He was named after King Richard III, as he was born on the anniversary of the king's death at the Battle of Bosworth.
