I absolutely love this battle scene. I'm not one for blood and guts and all that stuff, but this is an example of Jackson's genius. It sends shivers down my spine each and every time. PS. I find the elf that kicks the bucket very attractive. There, I've said it and I'm not ashamed ;)
Hello! Absolutely agree, PJ not only gives you an epic battle for those that like non-stop action, but he gives the rest of us a reason to care about the warriors, and to mourn them when they "kick the bucket", like that brave elf. Even Thorin would have liked that elf (maybe?)
Terribly OT, but I just noticed a pic of Blake Ritson on the side. He's a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. He doesn't play the lead in the things I've seen (unless you can rec something), but he pops up here and there and steals the scene. He's one of those people I can't believe isn't huge, he's charming and quirky, or a tad evil like in Da Vinci. I just find him adorable :)
The first time I remember seeing Blake Ritson was in Emma, but you're right, I don't remember seeing him in the lead role, but I haven't seen everything. He's my favorite in DaVinci and to me he steals the show from DaVinci(Riley) himself, even as the evil, but very stylish, Riario. Plus I heard him in an interview speaking Italian, made me like him more.
my fave part is when Haldir appears with the Elven armies :) Such refined ellegance and profound delight!
ReplyDeleteHaldir...sigh and tears...I agree, that's a magic moment
